Our Story

One day, while belaying my friend during a top-rope session, I found myself wondering what happens to climbing rope when it’s no longer usable. After some research, I discovered the answer: not much. Some brands might take their rope back, but that requires shipping it to Europe or North America—quite a long way from Australia. I realised I wasn’t the first to repurpose climbing rope into leashes—there are fantastic companies in North America, Europe, and New Zealand doing the same! But there wasn’t anyone in Victoria doing it, and that’s how Wild + Chic was born. I create high-quality dog leashes from durable, climbing rope, offering local pet owners functional gear with a purpose.

My goal is to give new life to climbing rope while giving back to the community—each sale includes a donation to a local animal welfare organisation.

Throughout the years, I’ve worn many hats—working in corporate law firms, tech companies, and even law school. I’ve always enjoyed diving into new experiences. I've traveled across six continents and lived on four, never really having much stability—until Boba came into my life. She wasn’t part of my plan; I never wanted to get a puppy. I was only supposed to foster older pups until I left Taiwan. But the moment I saw her picture, I knew she was meant to be mine, and I was meant to be hers. For nearly three years now, she’s been my steady anchor as I continue to explore new adventures. Last year, it was climbing.
